The President's Message

February 2018

Derek Bride

I would like to thank all of those that made it out last month to start off the 2018 ASHRAE season. We had a great presentation but more importantly we had great attendance. I encourage everyone to continue attending meetings so we can keep this momentum up. We have some great programs lined up for the remainder of the year and would like to thank our speaker Jeffrey Glick from Tecongen for both a great Technical and Dinner presentation. I’m sure everyone in attendance learned a few things from it.

This month we have another great program lined up. The Technical Session will be presented by Peter Acquavella of Automated Logic and will discuss the basics of controls system for Consulting Engineers. This program should teach new and refresh seasoned engineers about the basics of building automations. The Dinner Session will be presented by Walter Bujak of Automated Logic and will discuss chilled water system optimization. This should be an exciting meeting for all and I encourage everyone to invite some of their coworkers that haven't been to an ASHRAE meeting recently.

Lastly, I would like to invite anyone who wants to get involved with the CT ASHRAE Chapter to discuss with any of the Board members about the open Committee Positions. These positions are a great way to get involved and don’t take up a tremendous amount of time. I look forward to seeing everyone at this month’s meeting.

Derek Bride
