Combined Heat and Power with Advanced Inverter Based CHP Systems

Tech Session Duration: 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Tech Session Location: Berlin Room

Tech Session Description: During this technical presentation, we'll discuss the newest breakthrough in CHP technology made possible from recent advances and cost reductions in power electronics (variable speed drives) and magnetic motor/generator materials.

Features of this new technology include:

  • Variable speed operation for highest part load efficiency.
  • Seamless energy storage integration via DC input feature (can charge and discharge batteries).
  • Integrating solar PV directly into electrical switchgear for seamless integration between renewables
  • CHP CERTS Microgrid Technology
  • Ultra-clean technology

Dinner Presentation:

Mechanical CHP vs Electrical CHP

Dinner Session Duration: 7:15 PM to 8:30 PM

Dinner Session Location: Cromwell Room

Dinner Presentation Description: During the dinner presentation we will highlight the difference between traditional electrical CHP (combined heat and power) and, what we refer to as mechanical CHP. The benefits associated with both will be discussed, as well as, recent applications for these systems in CT and the growing Cannabis industry in US and Canada.
