Tech Session:

Custom AHUs with a focus on Energy Recovery

Tech Session Description:

    • The use of energy recovery within air handling units and summarizing the different technologies available, pros/cons of each and applicable uses for each type. 
    • Questions centered around best-practices of energy recovery design and/or to discuss specific application scenarios are strongly encouraged.

Specifying Custom AHUs & Preventing Infectious Disease

Dinner Presentation Description: 

    • How to specify custom air handling units and understanding the features and benefits. Topics will cover the major differences between custom versus semi-custom versus commercial/modular and will summarize expected cost implications, risks and savings of each.  
    • As a tie to Owners, Contractors, and Engineers who focus in the healthcare sector, this presentation will also detail the relationship and characteristics of custom AHUs with the prevention and control implementation of infectious diseases within facilities.



Tech & Dinner Sessions Speaker: Tom Elmore - General Manger, Air Enterprises; Russell Elkins - Regional Manager, Air Enterprises

Speaker Bio: 

Mr. Elmore is the senior executive at Air Enterprises; beginning his career with the company in 1985.  Over the last fifteen years, he has held executive leadership roles in Air Enterprises’ Sales, Engineering & Operations group; during this period he helped lead the company through a period of substantial growth.  The early part of Mr. Elmore’s career was spent in Engineering and Project Management roles, followed by over a decade in leadership positions in Engineering, Sales, Marketing & Business Development.  In addition to a strong understanding of air handling systems and applications, he has extensive experience in building and motivating teams at all levels, developing and managing key accounts, and opening and building new markets.  Mr. Elmore holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Akron.

Russ Elkins is a Regional Manager at Air Enterprises who’s start with the company initiated back in 2007 as a Design Engineer.  His areas of expertise over the past eleven years—in addition to Design Engineering—has included Applications Engineering, Operations Management, and Marketing.  Russ has been in his current role of Reginal Manager for over four years and includes the oversite and sales management of Manufacturers Representatives spanning across the country in over a dozen different states.  His proficiencies include custom air handling unit design layout, leading/training of Sales Engineers, client relations, and risk assessment/mitigation.  Russ has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Akron in Ohio.
