Cooling Tower Water Treatment

Tech & Dinner Sessions Speaker: John Burris, Water Treatment Manager, Frank I. Rounds Company

John Burris has been successfully providing Water Treatment and Water Treatment Consulting Services for over 25 years in the New England Area.  

Tech Session Description:

This presentation will review proper water treatment of cooling towers and will include discussion on scale inhibitors, corrosion protection and microbiological control. John will review what happens when proper water treatment is not used, including examples with photos and samples of scale. Legionella and various types of microbiocides used in controlling microbiological growth in cooling tower systems will be presented.  John will wrap up the presentation discussing how to save on operating costs using evaporation credits.

ECM Pump Technology

Dinner Presentation Description: 

What is ECM?  “Electronically Commutated Motor” and was created by GE in 1969 and ever since has been used in applications from aerospace to automotive to HVAC.  ECM Pump technology, control strategies, benefits, cost savings, retrofit and new construction applications, and case studies will be presented.  

Dinner Sessions Speaker: Scott Teller, Applications Sales Engineer, Frank I. Rounds Company

Scott Teller has been working in the HVAC and alternative energy fields in New England for the past 37 years.  Scott joined the Frank I. Rounds Company initially heading up their new pump division and recently transitioned into their new business development team. Scott has been an active member in ASHRAE since 1986.  He was the president of the Maine Chapter in 1995 and served two terms as president for the Rhode Island Chapter in 2014 and 2015. He was also on the Board of Governors and the Roster & Product Guide Commission Chairman for the Boston Chapter.
